Eurel is both a significant information resource created by leading sociologists and legal scholars in the field of religion (www.eurel.info), and a network of such scholars. It is supported by UMR 7354 DRES of the University of Strasbourg, and GSRL (EPHE, Paris)

It has opened since 2012 its biennial meeting to interested researchers.

During 4 years, the conferences have had a substantive focus on religion and territory.

The first was held in Manchester, October 25-26, 2012, with the support of CRESC at the University of Manchester.

In 2014, another conference was organised in September in Lublin, with the support of the Faculty of Law in Lublin. Contributions to this conference have been published in Studia z Prawa Wyznaniowego (Studies in Law on Religion) vol. 18, 2015.

The proceedings of the 2016 conference will be published by the University of Luxembourg.
